Our Vision

“To equip and prepare all our students for adult life so that they can lead full and productive lives as members of their own community”

We achieve this by:

• Providing a stimulating learning environment, where all students can access a range of exciting activities, designed to educate, stimulate and challenge.
• Creating an ethos in which everyone is valued and respected and where students are motivated, supported and encouraged to strive for success.
• Providing the highest quality of teaching and learning, through a skilled and appropriately trained and dedicated staff team.
• All students will access a range of accredited courses which will increase learning opportunities and raise achievements.
• Providing care, support and guidance for all our students through a caring and nurturing community resulting in their excellent behaviour and high quality personal development.
• Preparing our students for adult life by taking part in supported internships.
• Working in partnership with students, their families, professionals and local authorities, to prepare the leavers for life after Bromley Beacon Academy.
  
  

• Subjects that are studied at KS5:

*Students will study GCSE if they achieve Grade 3 in Year 11 and will study FS2 if they achieve a Grade 2 or less or FS1 in Year 11

Supported internships:

Students within the sixth form at BBAB have the opportunity to take part in supported internships through the support of LSEC and Skills for Grwoth. This program is designed to support students in achieving a range of skills required for their working life through a regular work placements that builds on employability skills which could lead on to an apprenticeship at the end of the internship.

Applying for our sixth form:

The application process for all non BBA students is the same for all other students and can be found in the parent – new admissions section of this website.

Students currently studying in Yr11 will be asked to apply to the 6th from should they decide to attend in yr12. A timetable of application and interview will be sent to parents via letter in the spring term.

16 – 19 Bursary

All 6th form students are entitled to a small bursary payment on a monthly basis.

The key objective of the 16 to 19 Bursary is to provide financial support to our students aged between 16 to 19 (must be under 19 on 31st August of the academic year they start course) who face financial barriers that may well stop them accessing education.

Dress Code 

Students are not expected to wear school uniform however clothing must be practical for the subject areas that the students are studying. If the clothing is deemed totally unsuitable then students will be sent home to change into something more appropriate.

‘The courses provided at BBAB have given me the opportunity to gain a wide range of qualifications that make sure that I am work ready. I am provided with support and guidance on careers and the Supported Internship program allows me to refine those skills for any job opportunity. ’
