At Midfield Campus, teaching and learning extends beyond the classroom. Class teachers set individually tailored homework tasks to meet the needs of each pupil; homework is specifically aimed at consolidating, reinforcing and extending the class-based learning which takes place every day.

Children are placed in ability sets for Literacy and Numeracy and homework is set to ensure that it is in line with their learning for that week. Every child is set an appropriate number of homework tasks, these are sent home on Monday and returned to school on the Friday of every week. Numeracy homework is set via the learning platform Education City (www.educationcity.com). Reading eggs (www.readingeggs.com) is also available for the children to extend their reading skills and each child will be given their own login to access these sites.

Homework tasks may include a maths activity based on the current or previous weeks learning, spelling words with a spelling pattern or phoneme focus, writing tasks or a creative activity which further explores any topic or celebration being covered in class at that time.

Bromley Trust Academy supports all aspects of children's learning, including homework, and encourages children to develop responsibility, confidence and independence.
